Lisa Taylor

I am an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor and am registered with the BACP. I have over 10 years experience of working with clients from all different backgrounds - working with issues ranging from family conflicts to life changes to personal trauma. I have worked extensively in the Domestic Violence/Abuse and Sexual Violence fields. I am also a trained Children and Young Persons Counsellor and have spent many years counselling in schools and for a children's charity.

What is BCT?

Block Clearance Therapy explores the subconscious mind and works to release negative patterns that have created unhelpful behaviours and emotions that affect our daily lives. After an understanding of these patterns has been gained, we then seek to re-pattern the subconscious with affirmations to create positive pathways in the mind to help movement forward.

FAQs

- How many sessions will I need?

  • Every client and their needs are very different. Some may want to work through particular issues and others may want to discover more about themselves on a deeper level.

  • As we work together on releasing negative patterns, more may rise to the surface to be explored. The amount of sessions the client wishes to have is a process that is led by the client and what feels most comfortable for them.

- What will my sessions be like?

  • BCT sessions usually last for around 90 minutes.

  • The first part of the session is where client and therapist will discuss the issues that the client would like to work through. As the conversation flows, the therapist will formulate a question to ask the client's subconscious which will enable them to understand the blocks that have been preventing the client from moving forward.

  • The therapist and client then work together to access the subconscious mind through a process of visualisation. During this process an understanding is gained about what situation created the issue or block and why and how negative patterns and emotions were forged.

  • During this visualisation process the client will be fully present and aware of their surroundings. Everyone visualises differently – there is no right or wrong way.

  • Towards the end of the session the therapist will put together positive affirmations for the client to take away with them to solidify what we have cleared.
